I just puit on the avon azaro sport tire which has a z speed rating. It is a 130-70-16. Now mind you, in order to run the front fender, you must take the fender off and take the plate that goes across the forks and file it down a little bit in order to put a set of washers underneath so that when you mount it back up the fender clears the tire without rubbing during heavy braking. I didn't think that braking matter due to the fact that the fender was mounted to the bottom half of the forks thus moving up and down with the tire, but never the less it would rub during heavy braking for some reason. I am not a very big avon tire fan but you can get them at very reasonable prices. I got this one for $85 usd. Before this I have been running the pirrelli diablo and they are twice as much and as far as I can tell they are made out of a very soft compound. I only got 1980 miles out of the diablo for twice the price. I have been testing the avon in hard cornering, and iit is just a sticky as the diablo. And the azaro has much deeper channels for water to escape because I ride in the rain a lot. Even if I only get 2000 miles out of this I will still run them. With the diablo in the middle of a corner, it would pull very hard into the corner. With the avon you can litterally let go of the bars and just lean in and out and it is very stable. Not that I do that a lot. But anyway, I thought I would share a remedy to the ongoing tire problems with the 16"s. Happy riding

I managed to come up with three nos m59x's, I am on the last one, so i am going to see how a 150-80-16 fits. It's like a quarter inch thinner, which isn't much, but it is .94 inches taller, or 24mm. I have a good three quarters of an inch clearance on the swingarm, and there is only .47 inches more needed because the difference is from the radius, it will be close, if it comes down to it, I will run an extra link on the chain and use the eccentrics to get the added clearance, I will be doing that this month so i'll keep you posted.

Thanks. It has also occurred to me that it may be possible to remove material from the swing arm in front of the rear tyre (probably quite a large area could be removed without causing structural problems) and have a dished section welded in. It might be possible to do this without removing the swing arm from the bike.
