Does anyone have the Trip Reset cable nut part number - this is the nut that secures it to the dash filler,
fits on the knob.

Can't find it in the parts manual.

it doesn`t have one. Something similar was justed asked in the 907ie forum and I`m afraid the complete reset cable is part of the dashboard. There´s no part number for that, either.

if you`re lucky some hardware store may have round nuts that fit. It will for sure look different though. Probably like this

Grainger in the US should have one or McMaster Carr.

BTW - do you guys think vibration could break it loose if it was tightened on the knob (but not mounted on the filler plate).
Didn't pay much attention to it so I don't remember if it locked in place.

If it's unlikely it fell down it should be around here somewhere.

Seems to me there is a fiber washer to keep it in place,so if the washer or the filler are gone,for sure

Take a look under the fairing and tank . Oftentimes a part may lodge somewhere on it's way to the ground. Let's hope that's your case.

I think you could find a suitable replacement at most good hardware stores in the way of a jam nut. Can't recall the specific name for that type nut. apply soft loctite to the replacement maybe. many toggle switches use a similar nut, if you can find the right size.

A threaded, knurled nut from an electrical toggle switch from an auto parts store may work,too. It looks similar to the ones on my guitars' potentiometers (volume and tone knobs).
