as far as I understood you did not to any modifcations to the chainline to fit the shinko 747 180/60.
how did you get that to work? just grinting some rubber of the tire away?

great to hear from you again. since I life in switzerland too (not aournd the corner but no big deal anyway) I would certainly like to drop by and see how you did the modification to fit the avon.

did all your problems work out? you mentioned wheel bearing problems and the size of the avon made you some problems in respect to the swingarm too as far as I remember.

any contact with the mfk so far.

that's an idea as well, scrape tyres thinner, but, will this not affect the tyre dureability?

Paso750 mentioned it, the wheel bearing problem was because of a missing wheel bearing spacer. (never give your bike or parts of it to a mechanic...) I also mentioned earlier that I did offset the sprocket, but it also turned out that my front sprocket was mounted the wrong way around (same thing as mentioned above, never give ....)
Anyway that made it even easier.
The swiss specific stuff (MfK aloud tire dimensions) is probably not of general interest. But it's probably wise to not make the rear tire "flat". So you still have an option to show up at the MfK.

I got a Shinko 150/80/16 reartire for my Paso. Shinko SR743 to be more precise. Just rode it today for about a 175 km´s and it seems to working fine.

Only modifications needed were a longer chain (108 links instead of 106) and a bigger rear sprocket (40 teeth, instead of 38). With this combination I was able to get a decent amount of adjustability on the chain/tire-thingeys.

I still have the Michelin 130/60 on the frontwheel and I think the combination handled nicely. Guess I´ll be going with the michelin for the rest of this season and swap to a Shinko 130/70/16 during the next winter.
