question to those of you on 17 inch wheels already
Are you sticking to the 5.5 and 3.75 widths or can you still get the normal fitment 17 inch tires with say a 4.5 on the rear and a 3.5 on the front? Seems there are a lot
of wheels around with the narrower sizes, not so many in 17x5.5 and 17x3.75

Feel free to hijack away.......Multiple threads get folks confused. Interesting source,If they can provide what we need in aluminum it will most likely be the cheapest option out there. I have personally dealt with many different Chinese sources, Some are excellent some quit frankly suck the big one, all are eager to find new markets. Very detailed and specific cad drawings and materials list are required when dealing with the chinese.

So, if I understand you right, you want to make entire wheels that are 17" but look like the Oscam wheels, to fit the stock brakes and sprocket carriers? Not a simple task. I have launched many products in my time, and dozens in China. If I had 3 months of free time, and a lot of cash for travel, I would tackle this project, but less than that is trouble.

Considering the challenge and the work of the weldups, $500 is worth the price. Now the bigger question, is your beloved Paso worth $1k to run on new rubber? The cheapest option is still the old way of using 4.5 and 3.5 wheels from a Monster/SS and become friends with a local machinist to make all the bits to fit.

I was interested to see where this would / could be taken, the idea was to see if the wheels could be made? I don't know if they can but then nothing surprises me nowadays, I am just testing the water as I did with the mirrors, obviously this isn't the same but just as interesting and I found Ducati themselves helpful in the process. I am also going to the British Motorcycle Show next month and will seek out a couple of wheel builders that actually sowed these seeds of thought with me las year when I discussed this with them.

The way I see it is if there is a demand then there is a market, the reason the bikes seem to have such a poor residual value - is the fact that there is such a big problem getting rubber? I also think this has an effect with the 907's also as they are seen as just another Paso.

I appreciate that again this may alter the original nature and uniqueness of the "product" but lets be honest these bikes need to be ridden.

So would there be interest?

Yes, I think that is an excellent idea.
For the front you need the two brake adapters for either 4 pot Brembo brakes, a speedo drive for the new wheel, and machine (if I remember right) 5mm off the inside of the left fork leg.
For the back, I don't have a Paso, so I can't tell you.
