I have had that happen twice on two other bikes and both times it was water in the gas tank. Its a lot of trouble, but if you drained, dried and cleaned your tank, I bet you fixed it.

It works!! Finally got to ride the other day. loads of fun. Fuel filters and spark plugs gaped correctly its back on the road!!
