Post subject: centerstand, clutch, carburator kit Posted: Tue Oct 17, 2006 7:28 pm |

Guys,
I'm dickering for an 88 Paso that needs these three items: a centerstand (missing), a clutch job (very, very grabby), and probably a carburator cleaning with a new kit installed. The tool kit is also missing. How much money, ballpark, am I looking at for these items. Since I beleived the seller when he said the bike was perfect, I told him that $2,850 was an agreeable price. After riding it, I'm not so sure. Any thoughts?
Thanks for your comments.

Hi Ricardo,
the center stand is very cheap, you could try on eBay and I think you will pay it not more than 20 $.
I've not understood about the clutch job, can you explain to me?
The carburator servicing is not much expensive, but if you want to replace it with a couple of Mikuni or Dellorto :lick: you will pay 2-300 $., if used, and over 1000 $. for a new one.
The tool kit don't have a good quality, so I wouldn't cry about it, but the price (2850 $.) seems to me a little bit expensive if the bike is not perfect and don't has a low mileage.
Let us know.
Ciao

The clutch pack (if that's what it needs) will be about $125 for the parts plus labor. The carb really isn't worth rebuilding if it's the weber so as has been mentioned a move to Mikuni's or Dellorto's is a wise move.
Depending on mileage and condition $2K would be whatr I would think about paying.
Other things to be considering:
Timing Belts
Tires
Valve Adjustment
These will likely also need to be done.
