Guys as i said before my baby took me to wdw, the total travel is 1250 km...not bad for a bike of 88.
Now i noticed that the chain is very loose and dry ,how i can turn the eccentric to reguate the proper tension.
P.S.
i found a rear shock for a 851 it's 33 cm of lenght this will fit on my baby???
many thanks
Piero

First roll the wheel while checking chain tension to find the tightest spot on the chain and make the adjustment at that point.
Loosen the large axle nut on the chain side with a 17mm allen wrench. Then loosen the pinchbolts that lock down the eccentrics and axle. Now you can turn the axle and eccentric cams to adjust the chain by using a 6mm allen wrench on the smaller hex inside the larger chain side nut.
With wheel at midpoint of suspension travel or with a person sitting on the rear of the saddle, book says to give 15-20mm chain deflection. After adjustment, tighten the pinchbolts and then axle nut.

When I rode that far I found it necessary to carry a small can of chain lube to lessen the stretch. Congratulations on a successful trip.

Yes you also have to loosen the wheel by it's axle nut. I took some quick pics to show. First is loosening the axle with the large 17mm. Then the pinch bolts. Third the cams are turned by use of the inner smaller hex head using the 6mm.

Loosen Axle:

Loosen Pinch bolts:

Adjust eccentrics:

I broke a 6mm on the adjustment procedure before. The first step probably wasn't loose enough. If I remember right there is a lip/flange on the swingarm and the eccentric and they grab each other when tightenened via the first step. It may take a little persuasion to get the cams to turn if those are a little dirty (or not loosened enough). Also - if I remember correctly - the cams turn both together so there may not be a chance of getting it out of alignment. But you should keep an eye on alignment anyway in case my memory is off. Good Luck...Oh, I would treat the pinch bolts with some anti-seize compound when you do this. If moisture gets in the swingarm it will run right to the lower bolt and corrode it making it difficult if not impossible, to remove later without destroying the threads.
