it's an hard work to fit such mufflers on paso pipes.. You might think I'm fooling you, but I can say it's not so easier thanbuilding your own mufflers starting from zero! It's very cheaper buy iron cans in an "acme" store and design the best muffler you can image! Afterwards, you can match the same on stainless steel, lighter and nice looking! Here're the links to mine: It's still not so nice to see, but... |

Actually the 2 in1 was jet intalled on the bike, but the 50 mm to 40 muffler wasn't able to make the engine run correctly, so I designed and built a new muffler following my ideas about exaust flowing, and it runs very better than any other I tested on my dukess... Anyway, following the same idea and choosing the right diameter for the internal cans, I think that you can build your own 40 mm couple of mufflers  You only need to leave a regular "front surface" (what's the correct term for this???) of the 2 in 2 pipe that should be [(40/2)^2] x 3.14= 1256 sqr millimeters so the secondary can should be about 60mm diameter and the external cover about 75 mm for a total lenght about 400 mm; then try to cut a small part to reach a better flowing Try to believe! |

I have 2 stock sets of mufflers. My plan for now is to cut open the bottoms/backs of a stock set , Say about 2 1/2 inches (6-7 cm) by about 14 inches (35cm) remove some of the internal baffling, then weld it back shut. Smoothy finish then repaint. The parts I cut open will be on the underside and back, hidden from view but nicely finished. What do you think????? |
