Ok, for the benefit of the forum. I ordered a new regulator rectifier from desmotimes. After I installed it, I was still not getting a good charge. I took the wire from the regulator that charges the battery and hooked it directly to the + post and whala it charges. After inspecting the wire that runs through my harness, I noticed that it is fused and the fuse wasn't blown but very corroded. The source of my problem. The original regulator may still be good, but I'm not going back through the trouble to hook it back up just to see. Lesson learned, carefully inspect all your connections and trace all wires before spending the $$ for new parts! |
