Hi PASO´ists
I have been offered a set of 17” wheels from a Yamaha fzs600, but the wheel sproket is for a 530 chain(the 530 is that not the expression for the pitch of the chain / sproket?). Would it be possible to get a sprocket to fit on the engine side?
Regards
Klaus

530??? At least ST series uses 525 chain/sprockets, but i havent check, can ST sprocket put to Paso output saft... I have many new ST and Paso front sprockets in garrage, so ill check little closer later.... Kick me ass, if nothing happen! I am in illness holidays till friday, very hard flu, so not so much time in garrage... :,(

Just checked, that ST 525 front sprocket can put to Paso750/Sport750 output saft, but need lathe, to take material away, cause ST sprocket is too wide from center part and different offset also.

Maybe this dont help You, if You really want to put 530 chain/sprockets.

Whatkind front sprocket needeed, if adopt 907IE hole swingarm to 750 Paso??? Does offset change with 907 swingarm? Have anybody put 907 swing to 750 Paso? :?:

"530" etc. is the pitch and width of the chain measured in units of one-eighth inch, so 530 is 5/8" pitch x 3/8" wide. Similarly 520 is 5/8" pitch x 2-eighths, i.e. 1/4" wide.

Hope that helps.

Good luck,
Dave. 8)

correct me if I`m wrong. According to Ian Fallons book 750 Pasos up to frame No. 750130 had a 5/8x3/8 chain while from framenumber 750131 a 5/8x1/4 was used.
So early Pasos had a 530 and later ones a 520 chain ?
I recall being told years ago that my chain was thicker than some on more powerful newre bikes.

I agree with Gerhard - I also remember reading about the change in chain size from 530 to 520 but I was unable to recall the source of the info, thanks G.

Was that Ian Falloon's book "The Ducati Story" you were referring to? I had a quick read through the Paso section in Chapter 12 but was unable to locate the relevant passage.

Rgds,
Dave.
