Hi,
as I wrote in another thread I have a problem assembling the front end of my bike. According to the parts catalogue there are 2 spacers at the front wheel. One on the right side and one at the speedometer drive. What outer diameter and exact width are these ? If anyone has the front wheel removed, could you check ?
thx,
G.

Here are the measurements I got with a metric ruler...
17.5mm ID x 26mm OD x 2mm
with a micrometer, I got this...
0.678" ID x 1.012" OD x 0.077" thickness
Both of my bikes only have one spacer on the right side. Neither has one on the speedo side.

thanks very much. Strange that the manual shows one per side. I saw an old 851 yesterday and that one had a spacer per side also. I still wonder why there is a spacer on the right side as they only had to make the axle some milimeters longer. Only guess I have is that the threaded part shouldn`t stick out on the left fork side.

Terry, did you actually remove the axle to check ? Just wondering if the "spacer" on the speedometer drive side could be a shim which is hard to see with the wheel still in place.
