one of my delortos appears to be at a very sharp angle and this i presume is why it misfire/runs low on juice one side??.
anyone know of any workaround or do i junk them and go back to a weber(if i can find one on flebay etc).

That carb angle seems right to me. My Sport looks just like that. Make sure your float levels are set right, and it should be just fine. If you find the Dellorto manual, you will see that the angle you have is well within the spec for installation. In general, run your back cylinder one main jet richer. The Dells are a much better option than the Weber. However, I would recommend adding some 2" rubber elbows to those carbs and put some air cleaners on it. That will definitely help with the spitting and coughing issue. I'm not sure what you mean by running low on juice though. Is it running out of fuel? If they haven't been apart in a while, a good cleaning usually helps.

she goes for a short while at full throttle - ish then splutter and misses and if u ease off throttle for a few hundred yards she'll take nother burst of go then same again.
am in process of cleaning everything in sight so hopefully itll be some of that ,still trying to fish the tank filter out at the mo. :banghead:
just stumbled on the idea that the angled float bowl looked as tho it would leave the main jet dry after a burst but this is because i dont understand how the fuel pumps works yet,when i open the filler it looks like a garden pond fountain in there lol.
soo much new/wierd stuff to learn.... :roll:

OK, You don't need the fuel pump with the dellortos. Mine didn't have it and it ran perfectly. Is the gas cap or system venting properly? This sounds like fuel starvation that can be caused by a clogged filter, pinched hose or poor vent.

The picture looked like it was a Sport, and not a Paso, so you do need the fuel pump. The tank has a weird configuration of fuel lines, so you need to run the fuel pump, or you will run out of gas with a 1/2 tank. Check your vent tube on the bottom of the tank and make sure it is not pinched or clogged. The vent tube is in the middle of the tank right next to the return line. The picture you posted looks like you have a return line going back to the tank, which is good, and I think I see the tube venting the tank. One thing to try is just loosen the gas cap while riding and see if that makes any difference.

To work in that tank, take the filler neck off the tank. That will open up things a bit more. Replace all the rubber hoses while in there, and get some hose clamps for fuel injection, not those screw drive clamps. If you are seeing a good flow coming back into the tank, as you describe, then fuel supply isn't an issue.

Clean out the filters on the side of your carbs where the fuel enters, and pull the needle valves out and make sure that they too are clean. The black spray paint on the carbs and into the throats is a bit worrisome. The lack of air cleaners or intake tracts will make it run worse also.

everything stripped,cleaned,blownout etc n rebuilt,all slides/internals polished n clear of paint/tarnish.
rewired all ignition/coil wiring.
tank cleaned out etc.
plugged in n fueled up.slave seal replaced etc.
runs beutiful and the motor sounds much smoother with much less "clatter". :cool: :cool: :cool:
will balance carbs tomoz n take for a blast then plug chop n tune.
