Frankie is 100% right.... I have to think allways, what and how much i put moneys to my 5 Ducatis, so for me its very stupid to pay soo huge amount of money from one 16" Michelin rear tire.... ![]() Anyway i wait, what is going with "Cooper/Avon"... If nothing, then i convert my 750 to 17" wheels, cause i have near all stuff for that with 907 swingarm... Anyway i want to keep my 750 in 16".... ![]() btw, i get offers today from EU area about 17" tires and seems, that very good 17" Michelins(Pilot Road 2) 120 to front and 180 to rear coast about 255€ TOTALLY!! So still again; its stupid to pay so much from old 16" Michelin rear tire !!!!! ![]() |

As we say here.: "that person, who ask too much money is not stupid, but that one, who pays too much is very stupid....." isnt it truth? Stupid is relative, I managed to buy 3 new rears and one new front in the last 2 months, by trawling through every website I could find. Some were expensive when I include shipping cost, some were a bargain, that said I am going to be OK with my paso for at least 7 or so years, no finding swingarm, brakes and all the other associated hassles, not discounting the change in look and handling. In the end every one will have to decide for themselves which way to go, convert, wait, or pay a few extra dollars to keep going. For me it was spending money on tyres, but this was a carefully considered decision, and in my opinion not a stupid one. ![]() |

U are maybe right with Your taughts(fit well to You), but one thing U maybe missed now: Think, how HARD those Your tires will be after that "7 years" ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Still something: With 17" wheels and updated 4 piston brakes Paso is MUCH better to handle and especially to brake.... 16" looks good, but they are "out of time".... Surely i want to keep my 750 Paso with 16" tires as long as possible, but i am not going to pay for that too much... I am looking now that Avon/Cooper 16" possibility very carefully and if they start meke them, then i know, that its MUCH better tire, than old designed 16" Michelin.... I have now "new" ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Wow.... sold for what would be 345 US dollars.... I might pay 200-250 for a new one if they still made them.... In fact if they do, I'd prefer something like a Pirreli diablo since I run those on all my other bikes.... but pretty much anything would be fine I guess ![]() |

In EU area set of brand new 17" Michelin Pilot Road 2 (that new version) coast 255€ (120 to front and 180 to rear).... Its not so bad idea to convert Paso to 17" wheels.... ![]() |

But.... although quite heavy, I find the stock Oscam wheels on mine quite attractive. I have other bikes which I modify & farkle, I'd like to take this one back to near original as possible. |

WOW, ![]() ![]() Just want to refer back to my previous point, about stupid being relative, consider that these 16'' tyres are 2 to 2 1/2 times more expensive, if you can get them, depending on how much you ride of course, it seems to be more a matter of principle than economics. Sure it sounds like a lot, but there is considerable cost in converting to 17'', in fact anyone who has done this might be able to give us an actual figure(?) Petrol is now almost 2x cost of what it was a few years ago.....I don't know what vehicle licencing costs are around the world but they only go up here, spending a small, relative fortune on a tyre once every 2-3 years or so doesn't seem that bad to me, whoever bought the one on E-bay obviously agrees and so does his competitor. As for the age of the tyres, I still get 2 schools of thought on that, there seem to be plenty of people around that reckon older is better, either way the tyre I had replaced last week was a 1997 one and it was working fine. Then again I don't ride like casey stoner. |
