Okay following on from the threads regarding the 16" options and in particular the thoughts on wheel re building using a 17" rim and the thoughts that some of us have had regarding what can be done.
If anyone has access to specifications, drawings and details that could be used to seek out possibilities of building a 750 / 906 wheel to suit modern spec tyre use then please stick it here.
I am going to attempt to see if Cristina is still at Customer Service in Ducati Holding, Borgo Panigale as she helped me greatly with info regarding the mirrors.
Ideas, Cad drawings, engineering specs all welcome folks.

Seems that the simplest solution would be just to have flanges made to weld onto the wheels. All that is needed is a T6 plate to cold roll into the proper shape if my info is accurate. At this point I am not even sure that the original flanges need to be removed. If this in fact turns out to be the case then there would be no need to find a lathe with a more than 10 inch swing something that would significantly lower the cost of converting to 17. Truing of the finished weld up can be done on an axle stand with a grinder and a jig and possibly a hydralic jack a very simple setup. Even if the original flanges need to be reduced this also could be done on an axle stand with grinder jig.
