Questions:

1. Have anybody put such 750cc USD front forks ever to any Paso modell(750/906/907IE)?

2. Have anybody calculated such?

3. If have, what shall be modifications and problems? I mean that same time get 17" wheels/rotors, etc. from same bike, so it shall be "17" conversion" same time, but with 907 swingarm.

4. Can Paso yokes(triple clamps)be used by some mods, or do i need such from 750SS?

Ps, i dont have such forks (yet), but i have possibility to buy quite cheaply... ....so, i cant make any measurements!

Now i am thinking this TECNICALLY, NOT how it "looks" after such...

I put this thread only to 750 section, as more readers here, but i am also intrested if someone have done it to 907 (or 906) :truck:

I haven't done it, but have the parts.

There is at least one member that has done the conversion, and hopefully he'll chime in soon. IIRC (if I remember correctly), The USD forks are shorter and one person used the non-adjustable USD forks and made an extension for the top caps to make the forks as long as the M1R forks.

I do know that the steering stems are different between the M1R and the USD fork triples. I want to say the Paso's is 25mm and the USD fork stem is 26mm and there is not a bearing readily available to use the 26mm stem in the Paso's frame. I want to say that the person that did the conversion pressed the steering stem out of both lower triple clamps and used the Paso's stem in the SS lower triple to make it a direct bolt-on.....it's been a while since I've looked at the data on the swap.

The handle bars are the next challenge. maybe a set from a Monster would do better, as they already have normal handlebars. I don't know the length though.
Cheers,

Hi Antti , I havnt done this mod bit my thoughts were to turn up a spacer to fit between the top of the outer ( upper ) tube and the fork cap ( with dampening adjuster ) and also make a spacer the same length for the dampner tube inside the fork. These would both have to be threaded female at one end and male at the other , and a spacer for the spring .
My concerns were 1) the strenght of the threaded joint between spacer and existing outer tube and 2)if I lenghten the fork (as above ) by the 70mm needed then the larger diameter clamping position on the fork is now to low to line up with the lower triple clamp................................. so in an untypical kiwi fashion .............................I gave up!

ps' as for the berrings , the SS stem is 26mm , and I thought the paso one was too , I can recall having trouble getting a berring for the paso and wound up buying fiat panda wheel berring kits to get the berring I needed
