Please, when time and schedule permit, could the gentleman (men or lady) with a stash of new Michelins in the closet/garage/shed favor us with a measurement of the actual diameters and widths of the specimens they hold so that these values can be compared to some actual dimensions of existing tire choices. I have measured my tires (which are from '01 and '02 and slide around a lot) mounted on the bike and I'm not certain the dimensions I took are accurate. I was able to measure the M59 as 610mm/24inches in diameter and 164mm/6.44inches wide. I measured the A59 as 590mm/23.25inches in diameter and 128mm/4.96 inches wide. Thanks all for your time and help checking my measurements. I am putting a database together containing many tire options and their specifications so that simple comparisons can be made. I'd love to share it with y'all as soon as it is complete.

Best Wishes, Randy.

Hi Randy height was measured by putting tyre against wall and using square & marked wall then measured to floor , width by lying on floor again using square , measured distance to wall and I got
130-60-16.....552mm high and 134mm wide
160-60-16.....590mm high and 157mm wide
Was your front tyre really as wide as the rear?,depends wether your talking mm's or inches :P :P , either your inches or mm,s changed size between measuring the two tyres , :P ( thats a relief , I thought I was the only one who did that )Quite a big difference between fitted and un fitted diameters ( I assume yours were fitted ), I had to measure again , but got the same .
Hope it helps
Hamish
