A friend of mine needs to get the bike examined by a governative inspector for the registration as vintage bike.
The VIN number of his bike was not engraved on the steering head, but on a plaque welded on the steering head.
So, that inspector said the frame was not "regular" and refused the registration.
So the friend unwelded that plaque and found out on the steering head were engraved the same numbers at the end, but the first numbers were the following:
DM1DA3N1JB - number of the bike.
We think the frame (and the whole bike) has been built first for a foreign country and later kept and sold in Italy with a VIN number compatible with the Italian law.
Does somebody know about those numbers (DM1DA3N1JB)?
