since my crash the bikes been ignored in the garage-im intrested to see some one else has done the wiring mod successfully! i tried this but couldnt work it out why it didnt work for me so down to me somewhere i guess. anyhow my bike stopped charging again after a decent amount of riding this was before my spill so i was ready for m.o.t - then my crash i recovered the bike started fine {ive never had starting problems ever believe me} but when i went back to it nothing? has the battery failed or the reg which i ghanged to the two wire one my paso has 3 from the generator-the company papers got it wrong but my mechanic ducati john figured it out-so i thought all probs solved till it happened again! is the wiring mod gonna cure the charging problem? can anyone vouch for this or does their batterys drain away? they are expensive! |

DD, The wiring mod is to improve starting and makes a huge difference, well worth it and not difficult. However, if the bike is sitting for weeks between starts it will do nothing to stop your battery from going flat. Get a battery maintainer, they are cheap enough, just keep an eye on the battery water level. Cheers, Fraser. |

Hi DesmoDave, I recently finished the wiring upgrade and took some pics of the finished article. They are in this thread: I may be telling you something that you already know, but you do know that the clock on the Paso actually drains the battery over time? I've got a gel battery in my Paso and have it on a charger when it is in the garage. It has been starting first on the first push of the button since then. Cheers, Mike |
