hi all, i have a 88 mod 750 paso which ive owned for 8 months i have changed the belts,plugs,oil/filter,clutch and brake fluids, air filters, speedo cable, dash mount rubbers, done the wiring mods, new battery, new chain, replaced the clutch slave cylinder o ring, bearing and button and today fitted new tyres i went for the shinko 130/70/16 006 podium up front and the shinko 180/60/16- 757 in the rear no dramas at all am running 14/46 gears and didnt need to lengthen chain only had to take approx 4mm off tyre for clearance on level concrete she sits with both wheels and both legs of the centre stand on the ground. I would like to thank all of the blokes on this forum for their infomation esp john slocum, paso750,pompone for the tyre info and higgy for his sense of humour, the amount of info here is amazing and has been extremely helpfull. long live the paso. |

another Paso saved, great ! So you still have some work to do checking/greasing the steering head bearings, rebuilding the fork, checking valve clearances etc. Don`t think you`re finished ![]() It was mentioned that there was a recall of the Shinko 757 tires which can also be read on other forums. It seems that some show small cracks. You may want to ask your tire dealer what he knows about this. 14/46 is some crazy gearing (instead of 15/38). You must live in an area with a lot of twisties or spend your weekends on the quarter mile ![]() A smaller front sprocket will wear the chain faster though. I don`t really remember but was it that one tooth less in the front about corresponds to 2 teeth more on the rear or something like that ? G. |

something like that ![]() one on the front is roughly equivalent to two on the rear |

At an original ratio of 15/38, the impact difference of one tooth front/rear is approx. 2,53333. ![]() |

I have seen in various post that the frount mud gaurd needs to be raised 10mm to get the larger tyre in. Was that the case with the tyres you have used. I have had a go at getting the mud gaurd off. but the bracket seems to be fitted into the fork leg and would require me to drop the leg off to get it out. Then it look like I would need to make a new bracket . If the work is required I would like to do it before I go to the tyre shop. |

the front mudguard is held to the bracket/stabilizer with 4 screws and the bracket itself is held on the fork legs with another 4 screws. G. |
