Here are the photos. http://s781.photobucket.com/albums/yy95 ... 10/Mirror/

This is the left side mirror assembly. My right side mirror is now attached. On this one you can see I am missing the plate that attaches where I tried to use nuts. This plate is metal and looks a lot better than the piece of plastic I thought I could use to attach it to the bike. The nuts just pop out and no luck with that. I thought about reversing the plan and put the bolt in and tighten the nut down. That doesnt work because the bolt sticks out too far.

So is there a proper fix? Or any good hillbilly engineering to make this work?

Here is what I came up with. (see photos) http://s781.photobucket.com/albums/yy95 ... irror%202/
This is hillbilly engineering at it's best right here. I will let you know tomorrow if it works. But feel free to give me any better ideas before I screw it all up.

Thank you very much for the offer. Today I put the mirror on the bike. I used JB weld to be sure the bolts that I showed in the pictures do not come out. I also wasted time in making that template and when I put it on there I noticed a dimple at each of the holes already recessed from the factory. Needless to say the mirror issue is resolved and fits great by drilling the holes that were there from the factory.
