 well i got the bike from a guy 2 weeks ago.it had not been on the road since 2003
i was expecting a disaster but i bought it anyway the price was right.
i took it home and threw it on the hoist and took it apart.
well serviced the engine it only has 13000miles(oil.belts.etc) serviced all the brakes & suspension.
put a new battery & chain & sprockets & a clean & kit in the weber.

so i took her out for a ride on saturday and she ran & performed fairly well.
the brakes were a little soft will bleed them again. might need to put a kit in the master & replace the lines anyone know where to get kits

Wow a complete overhaul in only two weeks ? That must be record breaking.
Did you also change tires, grease the steering head bearings, swingarm axle and linkage ?
There are several manufacturers for brake lines ie Venhill, Goodridge, Galfer, HEL, Cobra, LUCAS etc. I`d take braided lines that have a heat shrinking tube cover as lines without that can scratch the fork quite badly.

the tires were new original michelin,s came with the bike. i will do alot more serious work
like pulling the steering head & swing arm over the winter. i wanted to get it on the running & driveing so that i could evaluate the rest of the bike.
already i had to heli coil the swing arm axel clamp threads already. i also ordered wheel bearings for the rear wheel
i also found a brand new set of conti alloy pipes for it, they should arrive soon & a set of mukuni carbs & manifolds. but i think i have the weber fairly close i dont experence any serious bog it,s a little rich at an idle.

i was luckey the bike was totaly complete & stock with low milage & came with a ton of spare new parts.its the only reason its on the road so quickly and two weeks with a fair bit of time spent out in the shop :)

Check Bevel Heaven for master cylinder rebuild kits - both clutch M/C and brake M/C.
