A couple of posts in the 'Instrument mounts' topic pointed to the desirability of a section dedicated to fixes, parts sources, and so on.

Under 'Downloads' and 'Links' in the Rigistered Users Menu on the left of the screen we have already manuals, guides, the 'Ducati Parts Interchangeability List', and the beginnings of an index under 'FAQ'. The latter has a heading for only the Paso 750.

How about we change 'FAQ' in the RUM to 'FAQ and Paso Fix Index' and then under 'Paso Fix Index' have an alphabetical list of items like 'Alternator', 'Brake linings', 'Clutch', etc, with links or paths to relevant posts or articles. People could keep posting technical questions and answers in the usual Topics as they always have done, but when a particularly useful solution is posted a link or path to the post could be added to the 'FAQ and Paso Fix Index'.

How this is to be achieved, don't ask me (my brain is beginning to spin already) and some retrospective work would be good. Someone with skills and time available would be needed. I'll give them a free silver 'Paso' belt buckle when I start making them.

Hi everyone... I've been away for awhile... life has been pretty hectic. Anyhow, I think this is a great idea for the FAQ.

I'll have to see if I can dish out the maintenance of this to registered users or a selection of such.

I have so many things to add to the site again, and no time to do the work. Hopefully I can get some things done this winter. Fortunately this group has really helped make this site operate well with a minimum of maintenance! :laugh:

I would certainly endorse such a good idea, (particularly so on a rather selfish note as my shopping list is already beginning to grow)!

I will also be looking out for torque settings and specific spacer layouts that I am hoping are clearly covered in the manuals.

My Paso is now stripped completely with only a couple of additional problems noted!

Will attempt to post pictures of frame and swinging arm on my web site later!

I will be looking out for specialised engineering shops for sandblasting, alloy polishing and powder coating and I will let you all know how I get on! (The important criteria being good quality and cheap), and I am sure this will be of interest to UK Paso owners!

Currently in garden in sunshine gazing across at all that is left of my Paso!

Hey Martian! Welcome to the group! I must say, it's always nice to see bloke who rides the fast Ducatis taking the Paso seriously. You'll find the 750 surprisingly torquey and quick, if she's well set up and you use the whip. And oh, so comfortable!

The torque settings are easy to find - I think they may be in the 'Downloads' section. But while we're on the subject, does anyone know which is the correct figure for the alternator rotor fixing nut? In my Workshop Manual the setting is listed in the table at the back (page X.3) as 101 to 108 lb/ft, but in the body of the text (page M.22) it is quoted at 80 to 85 lb/ft.

I have only ever put 80 to 85 onto my nut, which was all I could manage, with a long, long lever, and males from up to three generations of my family on the job. Dad was 85 at the time, mind you, but still bluddy strong, I can tell you - strong enough to wrestle with me.
