That`s interesting. ... do you notice something on the pictures ?!
Ken and I compared the dimensions we measured which means the new chain sliders are the same as the ones we have but the swingarms aren`t.
Yours is a 907ie swingarm while mine is for a P750/906.

The two have a different chainline. I had the suspicion it would be so but I thought the chain sliders would be different. But if you look at the pictures the bracket the slider mounts to is offset more inwards on my swingarm.

As that side nose is in the air on your swingarm while I had to cut off mine I`d assume the chain sliders for the 907ie and P750/906 are not identical and you have one for a P750/906 while mine is originally for a 907ie.

G.

PS: another small difference: some are cut off flat in the front like mine, others aren`t

I'll get pictures of at least the 907 and the 906 side by side over the weekend. 750 is still on the bike as I don't have a spare 750(at the moment)

Rudiger

Are you still going to send some samples for testing like you offered or is that deal off now?

Looks to me like all 3 sliders are basically the same. Relief contours and the shape of both ends may be slightly different and the 906/750 slider has the extra tab but that's of no consequence to the way it fits the 907 as it can be cut off or just left on.
Looks to me like we have a one size fits all situation

750/906 on top
907ie on the bottom

btw the reliefs appear to be hand cut in every chain guard I have(4)

I am happy to post these to whom ever needs to make an exact copy if and only if I am assured of their immediate and safe return.

Sorry G while reviewing the thread I missed out on the fact that small one's fitted perfect. Forgot I had these little gems and found them yesterday while clearing some space in the Garage. :dunno:

While on vacation and on a rainy day I decided to inventory my spare parts and found a NOS upper chain slider for what I assume is a 750. It has had the side tab machined off, however otherwise is complete. Just wanted to clarify if the 750 version has been measured and machined before I install on my bike. If not I can measure up and post dimensions.

thanks for asking. All dimensions are available so no need to measure.

this morning I received a new original swingarm chain slider which I found recently.
The interesting thing about it is that it has the identical part number like the one I already have but there are several differences.

Materials are obviously different. The white one is the one I just got.

This one fits perfectly on the P750 swingarm and the side tongues are in the correct position

Not so on the old part

The outer tongues has an offset, while the inner one doesn`t. On the old part it`s exactly the opposite (I had to cut them off)

The inner tongue is not in the same position and the new part also lacks that cut-out

Furthermore the new part isn`t cut flat in the front

While both are original and have the identical part number the white part fits perfectly on the P750 swingarm while the other one fits on the 907ie swingarm which must depend only on the different offset of the chain slider mounting bracket on the swingarm. This ads to the list of weird & unexplainable things Ducati did back in the day ...

G.

PS: just out of curiosity, what`s the status of the replicas?
