OK, I finally broke something. Actually the part failed after only 27 years.

The rear brake light hydraulic pressure switch is not working. Checked it with a VOM. Got voltage to it but not through it when depressing the foot brake. Front brake light works fine.

I have checked the Paso FAQs and did a search. Info is there for the front switch but not the back. It has extra height on the threads to fit through the brake line banjo. My guess is that it is 10mm 1.0 pitch. Does anyone know a USA equivalent. Bevel heaven and MGCyles have them but with wires soldered to the top. The original has slide on connectors on top. I know I could cut and rewire, but I would like one like the original without going to Ducati parts. I am picky, I know.

Thanks in advance for your help. I have had the 88 Paso for 24 years. Still love old, oops, mature girl.

If I remember correctly you are correct in your thread size. Try an auto parts store and look for a VW switch

Hi, I got one from Ducati last year but tried recently and they don't seem to available anymore and like you all the ones I've found that would be correct have the wires already on them. Would be interested if you find a source. Arch.

Hi G, Tried to get one a few months ago from Ducati of Omaha and they sent it to Italy who came back after several days and said NLA. I guess I'll have to send out some emails to a few of the vendors and see what kind of connecters are under the rubber boot. Thanks Arch.

Perhaps call Kieth at Munroe Motors in San Franshcissy CA and ask him if he has one in stock (give him the part number to stay on his good side.) If not, he can be cajoled to do a search for the part number at other Duc dealers in LA and Carmel etc. Good luck. With his help I've recently found a brakelight switch, two turn signal lenses and center stand springs. Best of luck in your search.

When it comes to sourcing parts, I've had good luck with in New York as well. I believe it was Nicole in the parts department (memory failing me right now; maybe I should order some more parts & remind myself), who really helped me out last summer. I was trying to find new clutch plates for the Paso, and where Ducati Omaha said I was out of luck, Rockwell went & traced my part numbers forward to come up with plate set from a mid-90s SS that fit. The plate count/layout was different, but the friction discs were the same, so I was back in business.

I went to local ktm dealer today and got part no 50311051100 and put spade connectors on end of wires and now have working taillight from rear brake. Now for front brake.
