Putting my clutch back together (finally), and I don't see a torque setting for 6 screws that hold the pressure plate against the basket. Do you just snug the plate up to the posts, hand tight? Thanks! |

last point of the torque overview in the workshop manual: Clutch control disc fast. screws: 7,8-9,8Nm (5,8-7,2 lb/ft) Btw if you can`t find one value its worthwile checking the 906, Sport or 907ie manual. G. |

Hope I caught you in time - I don't know which bike you have, but you hinted at the best approach as these screws are a candidate for overtightening and the threads on the 6 posts are often close to being stripped. Using a torque wrench at such low figures is questionable even if it's a high quality one as it's still possible to overtighten the fixings. It's much better to 'feel' all 6 up by hand with both screw and tapped post totally dry of all lubricant if possible. It's impossible to convey accurately but as an approximate guide you should just be able to turn the engine over (plugs out) when tightening. |

Yeah, I figured they wouldn't need to be honked on too much, since they each have a spring putting negative pressure against them through the plate, making the plate act a bit like a lock ring. (Also, I've got an '88 Paso 750) Thanks! |

Not much pressure at all. The spring posts snap off very easily. |
