Frank, looks great! I use soft aluminum on the pliers, but the option Higgy mentions is probably safer.

Higgy and Léon thanks ..... but for me it will not sooner look great the moment I start publishing pictures of finshed parts :fart:

By the way Inhave seen Paso's with the jiffy in aluminium color, is/was that standard?
Most of them (mine also) are black.
Thought about it but do not want to many different colors/surface treatments in order to avoid a messy look.

Have a nice sunday

Frank

I can't remember seen one stock without a black jiffy. Below the concept bike was also black:

Has anyone an idea how to completely dismantle the mirrors? :?:
Mine are badly damaged and after unbolting the mirror I can't see how to remove the alu part from the plastic (is it glued?).
I have seen an original for sale ... €300 :zip: so that means the original will have to be reconstructed by me.
Anyone?

Frank, if you mean the triangle but: it is clamped on the mirror. Will send you a pic of the inside if you need one.

Hi Léon,

Want to know how to get the plastic shell separated from the alu part where the glass is screwed on.... :dunno:
The plastic is badly broken, want to strip the paint from it and repair it with fiberglass but first I have to get the alu frame out of the mirror.

Hallo Gerhard,

Mine (left) has multiple and deep cracks and was very badly repaired. :banghead:
I bought another one from Rudy but that was as bad as the original.
Have seen the Cagiva freccia mirrors but, although I really hated the Paso mirrors when it came out in the mid 80-ties, I consider the mirrors also as one of those typical iconic Paso items and as such I prefer to get the originals back on (but in good/perfect state).

Once I removed the glass I got the following idea: I drill the 3 "rivits" and I could, at a later stage replace the rivits by 3 bolts or something like that (or melt it back) since there is sufficient space between the white glass carrier and the pod for an alternative fixation methode.

My main problem remains to get the pod removed from the main housing and I assumed it was glued, something you have confirmed.
I will try to find a way to separate the pod and the main housing (it is already loose at some places).
Once that has succeeded I should be able to take the mirror fully apart and repair the pod and main housing, no sweat!
If anyone has an idea how to get the pod loose from the main housing ..... feel free to share your thoughts :phone:

Have seen that a new flasher glass incl. reflector costs €30 (SD).

Frank

this is one I split as it was fixed with glassfibre. The cracks in the housing were already there. Levering the pod off resulted in a part of the border breaking off although I used no sharp or hard tools and little force. It will be like new when finished although it doesn`t look that way :truck:

Hi Gerhard,

Could have been mine: has cracks at the same spots! :fart:
It is a good constructed mirror, honestly ..... they just don't like to get the full weight of the Paso when they fall.
If I had everything else in top condition, I would ask someone to mill me 2 pods from billet aluminium.......
At this moment that's a bit expensive with all the bills for powdercoating, and new spares etc.

But if I do not succeed in getting a perfect mirror I will do so once the bike is near completion.
Can't be very expensive to have them made to my specs

I'm still focused on the bike: frame, fork, swing, wheels etc. but in the meantime I have made me a nice engine stand (actually my brother did).
So when the engine is up for dismantling/working on it, I'll put it on my workbench and there you go.
Saw a nice design on the forum and made a copy of it ...... 50 shades of grey-version
Have not mounted it yet but it just came back from powdercoating and couldn't resist making a pretty picture of it to share with those of you who are interested :fart:
Maybe a lot of effort for a stand but you never know how intensively it will be used, being a Ducati engine

Have a nice weekend!

File comment: First metallised then powdercoated, 2,5mm steel so it will easily cary my Paso engine.

I've seen a beautiful clucth basket on e-bay but have no idea whether it would fit a Paso 750 or not. :dunno:
It says for all Ducati dry clutches like 851, 888, 916 etc.
Nevertheless I'not sure this means it will fit a Paso 750.
Any idea if they are similar?

it will not.
If on ebay or anywhere else it says "fits all dry clutch Ducatis" that means everyone post 1990, hence not F1, Pantah, Paso 750/906, Sport, early 900SS or Cagiva Elefant.
The clutch basket of the P750 has the groove for the circlip and it`s is deeper

Are there any clutch baskets which do fit the Paso?
