Hello all from the great state of TEXAS! Here are some pics of my recent purchase (about 4 weeks ago) from a craigslist add. I had 2 weeks earlier wrecked hard on my 04 Multistrada 1000 ds, and was looking to have something older to work on when I found this beauty!

Congratulations! Smart choice! The Paso750 is a great ride. Capable of so much IMHO. :)

Welcome to the site and sweet find. I see it still has the old Michelin tires on it; new exact size replacements are now available from Shinko.

Thank everyone! Ok, so, the bike has only 18 miles on it in 19 yrs. Being that it had 33,000 on the clock. I took off tank and cleaned it (4 times!), and kinda went through the carbs (which a previous owner put on Dellortos, 36mm.) Found out that the fuel pump mixed with Dellorto's are NOT a good match, took of pump, now it runs!

Great right? Well, now it wont go into gear. read some post's, cleaned out the clutch fluid, and kinda got it to engage. What size is the nut in the center of the clutch basket? I really want this thing back on the road especially for next months Ducati week up the road in Austin! I want to take all the clutch apart and clean it up. Also, I may need a new clutch fluid reservoir, it leaks and the little glass level marker is totally gone, so there is a big hole in it.

18mls in 19 years? That bike must have quite a service backlog. Makes me wonder in which condition the oil seals are as after years they begin to stick to metal. Then like the camshaft or drive shaft oil seal or the clutch piston o-ring they can start to leak oil.
You may notice the missing fuel pump at high speeds or at low fuel levels. I would`ve kept it. I`m betting the reason why the pump didn`t work with the Dellortos is that there was no Y piece with a return line to the tank.

The nut is a M20. It`s secured with a special washer which doesn`t exist anymore. If the clutch basket isn`t knackered I wouldn`t remove it just to clean it.

On the Dellorros, not designed for fuel pump. Gravity fed. and yes, it did have a y. after removing, it ran great. Searching numbers..... evidently there were 50 "upgraded" models in 1988 both Calif. and non Calif (U.S.A) models. Mine does have the "gold" valve covers (pic below), and when checking valves and belts, they all seemed like new!?. I went ahead and changed oil and filter, but it all looked good and golden, and filter was Ducati, which I put on Filtro Hi-Flow filter.

I have Dellortos on mine with the fuel pump. Works great so maybe something up with the pump itself. The pump will make a noise when key is on so if no noise, probably bad or clogged. Expect the same dried gasoline crud in your pump as was in your tank and carbs. It will run fine without the pump but the petcock is at or below the height of your rear cylinder carb so once the fuel levels gets low and cannot push fuel to the carbs due to no fuel weight, you may notice issues. If you notice fuel supply issues once its out on the road, get in touch. I have some photos of my fuel line routing if you'd like me to dig them up.

(Belatedly) Welcome! Nice looking Paso

re: pump/no pump - I replaced my Weber with a pair of Mikunis on my '88, and I ditched the electric pump in favor of the gravity/vacuum pump, similar to what the Monster/SS lines did in the carby years. Works great all across the range.

Check out Bevel Heaven for replacement clutch/brake masters. I've replaced both of mine over the years, and it's not only easier but cheap money just to put a new one on. I wound up swapping lines to braided S/S at the same time, too. One less aged rubber thing to think about. ;)
