I'm in the process of cleaning/rebuilding the Weber. Never done it before.

1. Can I pop the throttle linkage ball like in this video or am I going to damage it?
Or should I remove the throttle cable from the throttle body another way?

2. Are there any other screws I need to note the position of besides the ones circled in this photo?
Don't want to start from scratch.

I'm going to follow this video for cleaning.

The carb must be quite gummed up - choke and throttle are hard to move
and already last year it wasn't idling without the choke on, even warmed up.

1 ,yep ,just pop it off (I just seen a good vid showing how to do this  )
2 the screws shown are the idle mix screws and the throttle bypass screws . The idle screws should be reset as per manual ,there is no real point in recording their position now as cleaning will alter the actual fuel flow and they probly aint right anyhow. The bypass screws are to ballance the two venturies and one should be fully closed , and the other opened enough so there is equal air flow in both venturies .....so probly not a whole lot of point in recording them either , specially if you plan on removing the throttle shaft and plates. Once you have stripped and cleaned the carb its real unlikely that the before settings would remain correct after the stripping and cleaning....one would hope not otherwise why bother :)
