weber carbs require a correct setup to run smoothly (and it's not so easy to do!) and the behave of the engine remain still harder than a mikuni carbed engine, but weber perform a bit more.
16" inches rims require tires hard to find and not so performing than newer 17" tires ( last production of a59 front tires is dated 2004; rear m59 are earlier)
The end, if you don't like do-it-yourself maintenance, vintage ducs are not fitted for you, but if you feel like loosing you time debugging troubleson your beloved wheeled girlfriend...

I just was told that switching to mikunis should have given me less power but an easier handling from the engine

I dont belive to such stories, if there are not any evidences, like dyno runs, etc....

Surely 750 Supersport engine(with Mikunis) gives less power, cause those have totally different cams, but i think, Mikunis can handle better fuel, than Weber, what is designed for cars....

Eric,

Your clutch and gear box/shifting issue will probably be fixed by a real good clutch bleeding. Thes clutches are a bitch to bleed right and a vacuum bleeder will be a big help.

There may be some rust or corrosion on the plates so some riding may clean that up.

Eric,

check the P750 forum. You`ll find a thread with "downloads". In it you will find the workshop manual for the 750 Sport.

I looked in the P750 forum and the newly reconstituted docs.ducatipaso.org folder and could not find the manual. Can you provide a link? I thank you in advance.

BTW, took the 750 Sport to work and back. What a fun little bike! Less civilized than the 851 (harder to shift, Mikuni's sputter a little) but excellent when warm and at speed.

(Mike, will the Sport section remain ? It existed already longer time ago and then was removed. For me that`s fine ... I`m just asking)

yes the Sport section shall remain. I removed it so long ago because someone was trying to start up a Sport site and I did it as a courtesy to help them kickstart their page. I've not seen much activity outside of this group with respect to the 750 Sport, so we are going to adopt them back.

Thank you for the link. Found the manual links, opened up Windows on my Mac, and unzipped the files. Thank you much! I tried without success to check out the new 750 Sport Forum. I was told I did not have the correct permissions
