Hello everybody, i read with interest your forum discussions on the 750 sport, as i just bought one.
It was damn ugly [red with the blue stickers] but had nice retro [laud!] pipes and dell'orto's with K&N.
And you do not see them often, unlike their younger brothers.

So, as it was not that expensive anyway, i cut the fairing to only a front fairing and did some painting etc.

If anyone can tell me how id do that in a message, i'll show some pictures.

Does anyone know if there exists a dedicated site?

So far as I can tell there is no dedicated site for 750 Sports. Probably because they were never made in great numbers; certainly only a few hundred made it to the States. This group gets more activity than most, but you may try sport-classic.net () and Ducati.ms ().

I lost track where, but i read somewhere that it was easy to fit gsx-r1100 17" wheels on a 750 sport, does anyone know if that is true or know other options?
recent 17" wheels of ducati's are very expensive i found out.

Although it was not professionally done, but just by myself with aerosol's, i am quite happy with the result too.
I really like to ride the bike, it is small and has nice torque, and is somehow unsofisticated and raw.
+The noise of the pipes is LOUD!

i had a lot of different bikes, japs with good reviews like gpz's and vfr750r's but none came close to this bike, +they are scarce. So i do not understand why they seem to be so impopular.

Any info on the wheels' transformation [other message] still much appreciated.

Putting a 17 on the rear of the Sport is relatively easy. Just get an entire rear wheel assembly from a Monster or SS, and it all fits right in. Get the 4.5 wheel to ensure clearance. Get the the sprocket, sprocket carrier, disc, caliper, caliper holder and you should be good to go. The 4.5" wheels usually go for about 1/2 the price of the 5.5" wheels.

The front is more difficult, and is the same as putting a 17" on the front of the paso. The brakes are the hard part.

Some have just put an entire front end off of an SS or Monster onto the Sport, and that solved a lot of issues, including the non-adjustable forks. Make sure you get the clip-ons in the deal.

The Sport with 17" wheels is just lovely. Modern tires, and doesn't stand up in corners when you hit the brakes. I strongly recomend it.

That is a very sharp looking sport. It inspires me to attempt to put mine back together. Anyone know where I can find rear plastic for one of these?
