The oring is the old/original type of seal isn't it and the top one looks just like mine. I think they both would work fine.

Yeah I think you're right, before I chuck it back in ill have a good look around as I'm sure I ordered a new v type seal, but my memory is telling me the oring i have is what was sent. I'll run it all past Justin and see what he wreckons, like you say I guess both setups would be ok

The good thing is that at the end of the day it's only 4 bolts and the clutch cover is off so it's not a hard job.

I decided to clean the bore up a bit better on mine before I put the new piston and seal back in. If that doesn't work I'll have to get it resleeved.

I bought my seal from Brad the Bike Boy but I reckon a good bearing shop would have one. I think it was around $8.

True but hopefully do it once as I seriously hate clutch fluid, here's my newly powdercoated clutch cover that Protwin sleeved in stainless, cheers and good luck

Nice. I wonder if an engineering shop would be able to resleeve mine for me instead of having to send it to WA. I'm guessing Protwin outsourced it,

Do you have an inside diameter measurement for the bore by any chance please.

Justin does his own machining as far as I know, and I think its more about matching the sleeve to fit the actual piston going in the bore than a fixed id measurement, I'm going to see him tomorrow and can ask what he recommends if you like

Thanks, I appreciate that. It would be interesting to hear what he says.

Hey Andrew, saw Justin today and he said he'd be happy to do if you send it over. Also either of the pistons I have are compatible for both bikes as long as they are the matching diameter. Either seals are ok as well so ill stick with the o'ring for now. As far as any engineering shops doing the resleeve, he says better off with a well organised brake / brake and clutch shop, over here he mentioned Perth Brake Parts, I forgot to ask about the id size, but I remember him saying he machined mine to suit my new piston. I'll see him again soon as we're only waiting on some small parts now to finish my engine, just some MBP collects I think, I hope something here helps out mate.

When I get a chance I will have a good look at my piston and try it in the bore for how much give it has, with and without the seal.

Thanks for doing that for me mate. I'll fit the seal and put it back together and if it leaks I'll send it over and get him to resleeve it for me.

Andrew tboth pistons have a tiny bit of wiggle room in my resleeved cover thats obviously without the seals, the old piston maybe has a little more, with either piston halfway in the bore probably about 1 mm of movement when wriggling the piston, can't find anything to measure with except a steel ruler, looks like my bore is around 27mm and my piston around 26
