 Post subject: 1989 Ducati 750 sport cam belt drive shaft endfloat

Hi all,
assembling a engine at the moment which has two ball race bearings at either end of the cam belt drive shaft. With the cases bolted up the shaft has 56 thou endfloat. What should the endfloat be? and does the shim just go on the alternator side?

sorry cant find the specs in my manuals.Mine feels like almost zero play,when I grab the lower pulleys and push/pull them. J.
