On my 750 Sport basket case there is an oil temp instrument with a mechanical sender unit.
Where should I mount this? It's the same threads as the drain plug, but I don't think it's suppose to replace the drain plug. Since the engine was in bits I'm not sure how it was mounted before.

I've also found a black plastic ring that can act as a distance ring for the threads as well as a gasket, but not sure if this is correct. Anyone familiar with the sender and how it's supposed to be mounted?

On my 750P both the pressure sensor and oil temp sensors are mounted on the inlet and exit oil hoses on the right hand oil cooler pressure on the bottom hose and temp sensor on the top hose
