For those that are having trouble with their seat moving forward and releasing from the latch at the back while they are riding,I have a fix.All I did was to cut a piece of fuel hose down the side and slip it over the back of the fuel tank mount,add a bit of silicon to keep it in place,simple.If one piece is not enough just add another over the top.

Now thats the sort of repair I like to see, cheap , effective and not unsightly. Pity you didnt use #8 wire to hold it on but there you go . . So when did you move from NZ .If the rest of that bike is as clean and tidy as the bits I can see it will be a nice bike

this incident first happened to me, whilst on a ride... a long way from home. unfortunately when the seat swung off, the rubber bumps under the seat tore the wires out of the battery, and killed all electrics. (so there was a bodgey roadside repair to the wiring, and half a roll of duct tape used to secure the seat.)
annywaay... here is how I solved the problem.
It looks a bit rough, but it does the job.

Good to here from you. Hopefully your rear end was still not in the seat when it hit the ground. Your fix is a bit less agricultural than mine,good work.

Luckily the seat never actually hit the ground, I was able to trap it between my leg, and the sidecover as it was half hanging off. It happended after a large bump in the road which lifted me out of the seat (actually the seat came with me), I think it snapped the wires (to the battery) as I was trying to re-position it without stopping.

I have the same problem and just the fix provided by duc 906.

It helped for quite a while but the problem is here again. The fixing at the end of the seat (rear end of the the paso) pops of.

Any suggestions for a quick fix?

I'm planing to go the Duckboy route by putting a thicker plate on the end of the seat.

Not heard of this one. I got around this by using a Diopa single seat unit for the last few years apparently. It must be the plastic under tray deforming... tricky.

I used the now obsolete muffler retaining bolt, drilled out the hole a bit, and glued it in with some REAL GOOD glue. (Obsolete as I have after market mufflers)
