the 906 Paso, 900ss, Pantah engine starter sprag clutch is the same as an LC4 Freewheel bearing (KTM Part No.58440026000), avaliable from your local KTM dealer. I just fitted one of these to my 906 Paso. It is identical to the original ducati part and it cost less than half the price. duckboy |

In my ST4S free clutch went broken(year ago) and i bought KTM part(cant remember now ordering number), but i had to use ONLY those "friction pieces"(and spring) from new KTM OEM part, cause they "holder"(frame) was different, but that is only in my ST4S. Remembering, that KTM part will fit to older modell Ducatis, but not "direct" to newer modells. Anyway my "friction pieces" went too bad condition and also that spring was totally too loose, so KTM part helped me enough... ![]() |

i have read since posting the original article that instead of replacing the bearing, simply shortening the spring may work. unscrew the spring apart, cut about 25mm off the tail of it (the thick end) screw it back together, and refit it (don't try to pull the ends apart or you will loose the tension on the spring). oh well... i'll just have to wait until this one fails, then give that a try. Shortening spring work. Think I shortened mine like 3 times, like 40-50mm in total. I also machined the little knobs the spring holds together to make them smoother after wear. I`m replacing it know after 130 000 km`s. But still works on my Monster! ![]() Regarding interchangeability, a 600 freewheel don`t fit a 900. |
