Hello Paso Fans, in which intervalls do you check valve clearance, belt tenion, and renew engine oil on your Paso 906? I did it every 5.000 km, but I found out that the owner's manuel wants you to do that every 3.000 km. Do I save on the wrong end? Do you have any experiene concerning routine maintence on a 1990 Paso 906? Thanks a lot for your input and keep on riding, Hardo |

Hi, 5000 km for the manual, but I never met a duc that needs such a short interval for tension and clearance check. The only REAL interval is 12000 miles /20000 kms for belt changing ![]() Someone (like finnpaso) says that pasos need a very lighter maintenance than desmoquattro engines ![]() The manual gave me the lagest past of suggestion I need for maintenance and various sites tells you how to change belts. Of course it's not the everyday "do-it-yourself" job, such as painting a door! ![]() |

Hola: I did everything indicated in the Paso user manual after the first 3.000 km but, after that, I have followed my "instinct": - Valve clearance and belt tension adjustment every 10.000 km, approximately. - Oil replacement every 5.000 km. According to my old local dealer (the one I bought my 906 in 1990!), the belt should last without any problems for more than 40.000 km, but I think this is like playing with fire. I changed first mine with 30.000 km but I think is much better to follow the recommendations of the manual to be in the safe side, as Nicola indicates. Regards. Luis Javier |
