The Weber can be sorted if you have the time. Overcharging might just be dirty terminals or ground connector. Make sure to cleant every ground strap not matter how good it looks. Take them apart and sand or scotchbrite them all. |

Been an auto/motorcycle/industrial, and electronics technician for 30 years, and I know my way around a mill and lathe don't fret it will all get sorted out. and when I get it sorted I will post a detailed journal to end some of the confusion here, promise. can you spell voltage drop? wink wink nudge nudge Had my first Ducati in 1976 a shiny 750GT just wish I had a tig handy, never learned to weld............... |

if it`s overcharging and you`re just too busy riding it you`re just risking battery acid spots on your swingarm. If you upload pics to photobucket.com i guess it doesn`t matter what system you have on your PC. G. |

Appreciate the heads up,put a small catch bottle,4cc vial on the breather for now, next week the bike comes apart for a going over. It is a 1990 906 with 9500 miles completely stock except for Renn sport slip ons and some replaced body work, apparently it took a parking lot dive a year ago |

although I personally have never blown up a battery(unintentionally that is) I am well aware of the possibility. I have known more than one individual that has had such an experience over the course of my career. All of these explosions involved reverse charging, two involved lead acid,5 involved nickle/cadmium.In my experience it would take an open flame to set of a single small lead acid battery forward charging at 15.5 volt s and even then it is extremely hard to do.I would be more concerned of a wiring fire from a dead short than anything from the battery......jm2c |
