Am looking to by a Paso, something with a bit of character to complement my bulletproof touring BWM R1200RT. so I have been keeping an eye on eBay and any other sites that come up when searching. Have two questions:

1) I know it will depend on condition, mileage etc etc but am seeing some wildly disparate prices being quoted. Can anyone give an price indication (or price range) that would be sensible money to pay for bikes below in ok, acceptable condition..not concours or a dog

2) Apart from Yakaz, MCN and eBay are there any other sites you can recommend where Pasos are likely to come up for sale

Can't give you figures for your location, but in New Zealand you would expect to pay at least $4,500 for a decent 906, and more for a good one. I'd sell mine at around $6,000 if pushed.

I was advised against the 750 when I began looking, and I am glad I did: the 906 is a terrific bike - albeit it'll turn you into a mechanic.

Thanks for the info. Hello to you in Christchurch. Was in NZ for almost three weeks in January this year with my wife and children. We did a lap of most of the South Island in a camper van starting and ending in ChCh (unfortuantely missed out Nelson/Picton/Blenheim as ran out of time). What a FANTASTIC country!!! and the people were absolutely lovely too... to be honest I didnt want to come home :-) And the roads too, must say I spent a lot of time in the 'van wishing I was on a bike LOL. Am fortunate that I have a modern touring BMW to take care of my 'heavy duty' biking requirements (we tour a bit in europe every year) and now can contemplate something that will, while needing more TLC, will give back some of that character that is missing from most modern bikes. I have to admit to a great soft spot for '77-'83 BMW R100RS bikes, introduction of the first production bike with a fairing still looks beautiful to me (have had 3 over the years) but there is something that just keeps drawing me to Pasos. Maybe it is because they are just plain 'different'. They do say beauty is in the eye of the behold... well they look beautiful to me. So, the mind is made up, the decision is made... A Paso it has to be... I had better keep saving! :-)

As for pricing, 20 year old bikes vary wildly with the economy. A year ago, older Ducs were selling for a song. the prices are climbing a bit now, but sure not to the level of 4 years ago. The best thing to do is to scour the ads and see what is out there, and what has been out there. E-bay will let you search history on sold items.

Of course the price will vary wildly with the condition of the bike too. As you may have seen scouring this site that there are some rather ragged bikes out there, but also some very well preserved ones.

Decide on which model fits you best, and take the time to search. If you plan on owning it for a while, a 3-4 month search is not unreasonable.
