Hi I have just acquired a 906 Paso that has been off the road for 4 years and I am becoming acquainted with it. My plan is to replace the battery to see what electrics work, change the oil and filter and probably the timing belts before really doing much more. It came with a spare starter motor as the one on the bike is apparently not working. What is the situation regarding engine spares? I have seen a few bits on ebay so that looks useful. Are there any bits from other Ducati engines that fit? Is it possible to get fairing fixings, gaskets and other "consumables" Apologies as you must have been asked these questions hundreds of times but I have to start at the bottom and hopefully the learning curve is not too steep! For info I also have a 1998 Honda VFR 800, a 1974 Triumph T150V Trident, a 1960 Velocette Venom and a 1949 Sunbeam S8. Be gentle with me !!! |

Welcome Giscard We are a happy helpful bunch on here but may be a bit slow in replying apart from the usual regulars. Regarding your required info using the search option on here will bring a wealth of info onto your screen. It will also help to know where in the world you are located so if you get a chance put into your sidebar info. Also check out the tech/faq section for the 906 for all user mods and manuals etc. Well done on your purchase and what a lovely stable you have introduced it into. |

Thanks for the information. I have updated my location although it is split between the UK and France. Where you say that most engine parts can be easily obtained I presume this is from various internet sources. Are there any that you recommend as having the greatest level of stock. Is there any point in approaching Ducati dealers as I assume they are more interested in the nice shiny new toys ! |

Checking the dealer is never a bad idea. On occasion they can even be the cheapest ![]() usually has a good supply as do many ebay stores. Bevel heaven also has some stuff, odd ball bits that can be hard to find. |

Once again thanks for your replies. As a novice Ducati man I am in need of as much help and advice as I can get. As regards the starter motor it is brand new and came from one of the factory racing teams - apparently. However once I have my new battery connected I can start to see which bits work and start to analyse where the problems are. |
