No problem Mc tool we weirdos must stick together - Hell it's the only help we're going to get. (Well that and my old mate Mr Jack Daniels maybe . . .) Pleased someone on the forum got it and - I assume - will unite it with his bike, as it were. |

Hamish, the solution is get a used manual and keep it on the bike. I keepo a new one at home and a more rancid one in the tools compartment. It does come handy sometimes ![]() G. |

I don't want to sound like a blowhard but there is nothing in that book ( and I havn't even seen one yet ) that could help me on the road side .... specially the wiring . There is nothing on my Paso I have not fully investigated ( pulled to bits and put back together at least as good as it was ). and a owners book will at best help with small problems ...... I mean if there is a rod poking out of the cases or the bike is engulfed in a fireball your not going to be lookin at the owners book ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I carry wiring diagram with wire colour chart and 12v tester on my 907. On 999 I carry a handbook(2nd hand copy with all foreign languages removed) for codes and reset instructions. Never needed them though, most used item is breakdown/recovery card. |

I guess it what your used to . I have spent most of the last 30 years fixin home appliances and well a big bunch of wires ,either numbered or colour coded are 2nd nature to me . A wiring harness on a motorbike is a piece of piss ,slightly less so without a wiring diagram . but as a branch manager I really struggled , just not my thing , I mean I always got there but I had to work at it where others seemed to find it easy. ![]() |

My only skill - if skill it can be called- is a complete and fundamental knowledge of how to use my Visa card . . . I only keep handbooks and toolkits etc. because I have an unnatural need for completeness on a concours bike. Who knows, I may even sit on it one day . . .. By the way 900streetfighter I have a complete and unmarked (and I mean unmarked) workshop manual, ring-bound, for a 2003 999S. I don't need/want it - let me know if you're interested. |

Rhino, I'm with you. As a lawyer, I also am much more skilled using my Visa. But... I don't know why, sometimes I try to use some screwdriver. The results are often/always not so nice ![]() Ciao |
