I've hunted high and low for a set of floating discs for the 16" 906 but can't find them anywhere. I've seen them on a Paso (a 750, I believe, maybe even on this site) and it even had the original 2 piston calipers. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

mine are MQ(moto quality)/Brembo but they don`t make them anymore.
You could try:

Discacciati don`t list them anymore on their own website but they may still have some. Many aftermarket Paso parts must still exist collecting dust in the shelves of numerous parts dealers & manufacturers as they for sure haven`t sold them all. The problem is how to find them ...

Funny enough... I am the owner of that site...I used to sell them from time to time, unfortunately people stopped buying from me as our Discacciati price list was way too high and there was no profit there.

Later on I learned that anyone (NON traders) could buy directly from the factory at trade discounted prices, therefore there was no point for me to keep any more stock and whoever enquiried about their products , I simply suggested to contact Discacciati directly.

Discacciati is a very small factory but with a long racing experience (they come from Brembo I think) and they have a quick turnaround, they do not carry these old designs in stock but they can make you a set in a short period of time.

They are wonderfuld Brakes, I have them for my 907ie (300mm cast iron rotors, made specificly for me) and I love them; the only downside is that since they are cast-irons, they need specific pads, but I am preatty sure that for the new production they would use a more "contemporary" rotor material (Steel) which allows a wider pad choice.

They speak in english, so there is no language barrier.

Thanks Angelix, the link on Gerhards post has them listed but at 350 bucks a side I'll be looking at $800 at my door for a set. Way out of my price range. The main reason for floating was to get rid of the cast iron discs and go s/s. I didn't think I could get s/s without them being floating...then I found some from Metealgear on eBay. They look exactly like the original ones so I had thought that they were cast. I then read the fine print in the sellers description and they are stainless steel and only $140 each with free shipping. Happy days.

These are custom made from a UK specials builder. I use bronze sintered pads (Carbon Lorraine A2332-A3) and they are stunning. Wet weather performance is almost too much.

Thanks J.William, I bought some sintered pads from metalgear as well. I remember the conversation on 'The story so far' thread :D

Randy, your brake discs are totally different. While you might be able to find a front set try to find a rear disc for those Marvic rims. I was once offered one for $500 and was seriously considering it as it was impossible to find another. I then had an adapter machined to use an original Paso brake disc but decided to sell the rims. (I still have that adapter)

I'm a little late to the thread, but here's the setup on my 906 with the stock rims. Personally I prefer the iron rotors for the feel when braking. If they get any rust on them it will just come off in the first half mile next time you ride.

You can see the same style rotors in this shot of my wife on the Paso prototype that was set up for Jimmy Adamo to race:
