Hi there, can't find the torque figures for main rear swing arm bolt and shock absorber linkages....also manual recommends engine oil to lubricate linkages...I plan to use moly grease, any thoughts???

I cant find anything specific but the torque for 10mm bolts is 34 - 37nm and the 12mm is 52 - 57 nm, and somewhere around 60 _65 nm for the swingarm pivot bolt I don't think its hellishly important to get them spot on . I would never have considered using oil to lube them unless I had nothing else and were desperate to go riding , Id go for grease every time :)

It`s all in the workshop manuals. If you can`t find one info in the 906 manual check the ones of the P750 or 907ie.

Swingarm pin 68,7Nm
Rear suspension M12x1.5 (rocker arm, con rods, shock-absorber) 49-54Nm
as Hamish said.

For the swingarm bearings I use Castrol LMX grease. I wouldn`t use Moly grease for bearings.

I do have a workshop manual (blue cover) but couldn't find specific references to torque settings...some of the italian to english translation is not perfect....

the translations are indeed bad. Forcellone (swingarm) is translated to "fork".
"Back suspension nut" and "shockabsorber nut" are mentioned tho. However if I`m unclear I check the other wsms as the translations are often not the same. In the 750 wsm it actually says "Rear suspension (rocker arm, con rods, shock-absorber) pins".

DO NOT USE Molybdenum Disulfide grease for any of the swingarm linkage bearings. Even the slightest heat will disassociate the Molybdenum from the Sulphur. The free Sulphur then forms SO3 which is particularly capable of bonding with Iron. Result? Heaving pitting to bearing surfaces. Actually, don't use Molybdenum Disulfide grease for anything ever. Worst stuff ever invented. Throw it away and use a Lithium soap grease.

Thanks Jwilliam, have removed and degreased all bolts/linkages and used castrol high temperature grease...
