On my 750, I made the fuel guage much more stable and accurate, and changed the low fuel light setting, by removing the mechanism from the tank, bending the float arm, and resetting the contacts.

No. The 906 have the water cooled motor and so the dashbord have water temp indicator where the 750 have the oil indicator. Bye. Francesco |

Also some differences between 750 and 907 dash, cause temp. meters different and also fuel meter much more stable in 907. |

Good, Skins! :thumbup: Next time,when i take 750 fuel tank away, ill do same to mine! But how about "stable"? Have U seen, how stable 907 meter is compared to 750? Difference is very big  I think, it is not only that mechanism in tank, what makes 907 fuel meter so stable... Propably also different meter in dash?

You're right, Antti, I've never seen a 907 fuel gauge operating. Also, I can't remember exactly how unstable my gauge was before I 'tuned' it - it was quite a few years ago, and at the time I was more concerned with accuracy and the operation of the low fuel warning light. But after my work, which included replacing the float with one I made, the gauge is stable. You will see that small adjustments in the angle and position of the float, and in the angle of the float arm, make a lot of diffference, and the electrical contacts can also be adjusted easily. Just remember to make a good fitting, with a proper sealant, where the unit goes back into the tank! |

That was just, what i thinked ! :thumbup: Maybe heavier brass make it more stable also? But i must adjust mine, cause warning light come too early and there is still fuel for 100kms, when it start to light. I change gasket in flange, if need :thumbup: Ps, Check 907 meter, if You see one such bike, its very stable comapared to 750 meter. |

I can't remember exactly what I used for the float, but it wasn't brass. It was a chemically-resistant plastic - but I believe it was heavier than the original. |
