I heard a lot of rumors , complaints ,etc ,etc ..

And others : 1991 was the best year for the 907 ie ,1992 are great and the 1993 is the worth.
can you help me to decide or if you have a information with real fact , let me know.
I want to buy a 1993 907 ie ,but know i can't decide.

How many of these people giving you advice have actually OWNED a 907? With a Ducati in general, getting info from someone who hasn't owned one is a bit risky. Then again, getting advice from an owner is biased too, so there ya go.
I bought a 907 new back in '91. Still own it but truth be told it hasn't been ridden much for a few years. The '92 had a few upgrades that are nice. The '93s are the same as the '92s so I'm not sure why anyone would think they are the worst?
Radiator system sucks? I've never had problems with mine. There are issues with the coolant reservoirs cracking if that's what they mean. The fix there is to use a cap off a Honda (I've forgotten the details but a search here should turn it up.) Then the bottle isn't under pressure and won't leak.
I haven't had any electrical issues with mine - maybe they're talking about the clock running the battery down. That'll happen if you don't ride it much.
I'm sure there are other quirks I'm not remembering right now but... it IS a Ducati. I can't think of one Duc that doesn't have it's own set of issues and fixes. Any Ducati is going to need more TLC than most Japanese bikes. That said I've got 7 of them now (three are project bikes though) and the only time one has left me stranded was my own fault. It was a 34 year old 750 that I had completely rebuilt and one of the ground wires lost a connector so the battery stopped charging and went dead.
Getting back to the original question though, if you want a 907 I wouldn't hesitate buying a 1993 model. In fact if i didn't already own a '91 I'd prefer a '93. I think the big question is if you really want a Ducati, not what year 907 is best.

Hi Dukito,
The year is not so important, although the later maybe a bit better. more important is the history of the bike. neglectet maintenance can become expensive. the '93s are leftovers of '92, I believe. I own a '91, but is titled as '92. the historie of the bike was completely documented by dealer maintenance. So it surprised me when i found out that the closing rockers had a play of tenths of millimeter instead of max. 0.02. further the rubber bushes in the rearwheel are gone after 53000 km. But further nothing serious compared to the bevelheads I owned.
goodluck with your purchase

I would buy a later one. I own a 1992 one, even if she has really built on 1991. The main difference is on the front brakes: the 1991 have 300 mm. diameter rotors and black calipers, while the 1992 ones (on 1993, they didn't build any bike, they only sold some bike still in stock) have 320 mm. rotors and goldline calipers. Besides, the 1991 ones have black mufflers, while on the 1992 ones they were covered by an aluminium (or steel?) cylinder. It seems to me also that the seat was lowered, but I can't well remember. I don't think there are some real quality difference between the 1991 and 1992, nor I remember any discussion about it on the forum.
Regarding the issues of the bike, the main problem is on the electrics. On my bike the regulator was broken last year (very common problem. I replaced the mine by an Electrx RR51) and last week, after a wash, the bike didn't want to start. The connection on the relay maked rusty. The horn also was broken. Really, they are little problems (as well as the clock which drains the battery), in fact I never heard about major issues on the ECU and the injectors. Good luck in your search.
