Hello all,
I bought a '92 907ie, my very first bike, about two months ago and have been trouble shooting all the little problems it has. The local ducati mechanic who tuned the valves for me noticed that the rear shock has some play. With the bike on the centerstand you can grasp the rear wheel and move the swingarm just a little (maybe 1/16th of an inch). I'm not quite sure which part is actually moving within the suspension, but if I put my finger on the lower arm that connects directly to the shock I can feel some play. I don't have any experience with suspension so any advice would be welcome.

It is worthwhile replacing the suspension linkage bearings anyway with a 1992 machine. I bought a new shock for mine and found movement within the top shock bush. Someone at the factory must have been on the beer. Passed the relevant test but I wasn't too pleased.
