Hi all,

I told you it wouldnt be long before i would need your help

I just bought a very nice 907 and it had a scottoiler fitted. I really dislike them and so took it off, i carefully took all the wires and remembered they have a vacuum pipe to get the power from, i was being very careful not to pull the pipe off wherever it was fastened to and then..................................................... POP !!

out it came, i presume there is a vacuum take off somewhere....... but where ??

i didnt want to remove the tank/ panels but now i'll have a vacuum leak wont i ?. It doesnt seem to have affected the running of the bike so what would you do ? leave it till it has a belt service in 6 -9 months time and get the dealer to sort it out or remove the tank and see where it came off from.

If i decide to remove the tank where do you think it will have come off from as the hole will now need blanking off.

Thanks i'll stop messing with it now..................... promise

Vacuum?!?

Isn`t Scottoiler just dripping oil on chain mechanically w no aid fr anything on the bike?

If you don`t want it, I would like to buy it from you.

I would not recomend to use the bike until you have blocket of the leaking vacum as the bike probably are running lean on the leaking cylinder and you can risk sizing a piston if you are running it like that.

I have a scottoiler on mine, quite happy with it but it took some trial to get it adjusted right. Another thing is you have to remember to refill it before it runs out of oil as it takes a while to bleed it again...

The vacum is used to open a valve so the oil wont leak out while the bike is parked, but it is actually gravity feed.
I did hook up mine on the intake manifold that is where im sure you will find yours to.

I sorted it  There was a little rubber 90 degree elbow sticking out of the inlet manifold so i pulled it off and screwed a long machine screw into it and put it back on again.

I presume the elbow is part of the scottoiler kit and the manifold would just have a blanking plug over it ??

Off out on it tomorrow for the first time if the weathers nice, fingers crossed. I'll let you know my feelings when i get back. I've never ridden a 907 and i'm excited to know what its like.

Good Luck and ride safe and easy to start.

I'm using a pro oiler on my Multi which I LOVE! It's electric so it can send just the right amount of oil.

The scottoiler that was fitted on my 907 had a bracket fastened to the swing arm directing the end of the tube onto the outer plates of the chain so the inner face of the chain (the plates on the other side of the sprocket) would not get lubricated

For me i'll clean and lube the chain on a regular basis and sell the scottoiler on.
