...are they all interchangeable? I'm looking at ways to move my handlebars back, maybe 20 to 25mm as well as changing the height and angle slightly to better suit me. It seems the easiest way to do this would be to cut the old bars off their base and weld something different on. I want to buy a pair of used and/or bent ones off of Ebay to experiment....will any Paso types do?

How about the upper triple clamp - are they all the same?

Thanks,

Sam

yes and yes, no matter if silver or black. The only difference in the upper triple tree could be the length of ignition switch threads (I don`t know what to call them) as a few models use a short and some a long neck ignition switch.

1 inch risers and a Corbin did wonders for the 907, About the tallest that will clear the fairing.
Could easily be made up to change the angle or setback if you have access to a mill

You could also try lowering footpegs alá Variopegs + risers,
definitely more comfy f me, 190cm.
Lower seat also adds comfort.

Risers, seat, lowering pegs all are good ideas. But I'd have to find/build/buy risers and/or pegs and I already have a Corbin seat, albeit an older one. But I think the issue for me can be best addressed by either moving the pegs forward, or the bars back.

When I set up a bike I strive to make it so I can pick my hands off the bars w/o putting undue strain on my back - this indicates that my body mass is over my feet and/or butt, so my lower body can deal with holding me up, leaving my arms for the more delicate task of control. I've found this effective in MTB, trials, and RR motorcycle setup as well as on street bikes. Raising the bars helps a little, but not as much as moving them back. Moving the pegs forward also has the same effect, but I like the current position of the pegs. For me it appears there's a comfort zone about an inch in front of there the bars are now.

Thanks all, I'll let you know when/if I get on this project.

Sam

if you have access to a machine shop maybe you could make something like this or a combination of a riser and an offset fork tube extension to use clipons.

nice, that`s very close to what I was thinking about. Sam, everybody knows someone who knows someone who owns or works in a machine shop or can make a (CAD) drawing (and has the time as long as you`re not in a hurry :) ). The files for the bar risers can be found in the downloads so that could be used as a start. It would "only" require to change the holes for the bolts to countersunk and add the cylinder shape as fork extension to mount clip-ons. Derek`s look like clip-ons on a clip-on adapter which is adjustible in any direction which is great but way more complex than you`ll need it.

Those second raisers do change the handlebars also to a narrower angle which I personally don`t like. That`s too "sportsbike" for me and uncomfortable. I`ve always prefered wider handelbars but that`s a matter of taste.

I have used just sameking risers in my ST2, as Derek used earlier in his ST. those are about 8-9mm high, as cant use higher in older modell ST series. If higher, then they hit to front main fairing. If someone need drawing of them, i can make it(when time  ). It is only for ST, not for Paso's.

Very nice those custom handlebars
According with Gerhard, I think if someone would have access to a machine shop, it would be a nice idea to build those wonderful upper plate and handlebars...
Ciao

Yes, making posts that bolt to the current mount, and then clip-ons to fit that fit the posts seems to be the most flexible solution.

Unfortunately, my time and cash budget on the 907 for this spring was just eaten up by needing to buy a new pair of heads. :-(

More on that later this weekend.
