IMO the bike is worth so much more that just the $$$ figure...
the 907ie model is distictive and if it's what the buyer wants they may go higher...given that though they are a progression of the Paso line they are Ducatis first venture into fuel injection with the 851...so they have some significance to collectors...

as they become more rare; through the ravages of age and wheelies and fast corners...and frustration at maintaining a model that some parts are unobtainable - a "stock" bike will fetch a better price - even with some scratches.

I bought a set of OEM cans in good condition from the States; not to use them - but so I can put the bike back to "Concourse" condition if I want (or if I sell it).

the big money Ducatis for collectors aren't modified - they are "standard".

I say "good luck" to him - the higher they go for the more valued ours become.

How much would it be worth before the $1200 service, stock bike with scuffs and scrapes that he documents in words (but not pics)? Just a few small pics are not enough to go on in my POV. You can post 24 pics on ebay before you hit extra charges. Has it ever had a "chain incident" and then the usual glue job on the cases? etc. With only 14K miles, I'd put the market value around $3500-$4000 USD before the $1200 service. So maybe $4000-$4500 with the service. Usually you can't get back recent investments in new tires, service, battery, just the way it goes with used motor vehicles.

So I wonder why Pasos don't fetch more than they do, despite low production numbers, and lookin' good, and being a pleasure to ride, and being a Ducati? Kind of reminds me of Studebaker, distinctive, low numbers, no longer made. When I as growing up, a long, long time ago, my parents bought Studebakers, about six of them over the years, even though my father referred to them as "SteadyBreakers"

You can buy Studes for pretty low money compared to other antique and collectible cars.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and money is irrelevant if a purchase is made for enjoyment. Think of all the shitbox new cars out there that people buy and in the space of two years have lost half their original value. Motorcycling on a Paso is a cheap form of hedonism that can be appreciated if monetary concerns are waived. I agree with Laddie, but Laddie , if you do see a green frame 900 SS , I want one! , as they must be rarer than the green frame 750. Yours must have been bored out me thinks. I bought a '93 907ie midway through last year, 20K on the scoot but in truly pristine condition. I paid $4500 for the bike, a premium price but well worth every dollar. Of course it wasn't an eBay purchase, I examined it carefully before handing over any money, and I'm not sure I'd go the same amount without first listening to the machine and checking it out thoroughly. Only mods were the aftermarket mufflers (and I also have the originals), new Z6 tires, never down, no marks in the paint, new chain, sprockets, belts and valve adjustment...who could ask for more?
I love riding the 907 but I appreciate that, as an older machine, it has limitations. Hell, I have an 850 Norton that I've owned since new, and it has limitations, too. Both motorcycles are show pieces, not daily beaters. I have a BMW (and a VW Vanagon) for that purpose.
Covered engine and wierd looks? My second motorcycle was an Ariel 250cc Leader with a fully covered engine. Talk about odd-looking, the Leader took the cake. Still, 45 years after I sold it so I could afford a Norton Atlas, I wish I still had the Ariel.
I bet there are some investors who wish they'd have put money into collectible motorcycles instead of Bernie Madoff's hedge fund and maybe even some more who stuck their cash in stocks. Me, I'm glad I could afford the Ducati.

Yes, we enjoy our Pasos, and it's unlikely that many see them as investments for future financial return, more like investments for pleasure and diversion.

How much is it worth? Who cares.
I own one, ride it, enjoy it, and if I ever sell it will think twice about the first car I owned - a 1955 Alfa Romaeo Giulietta Sprint that I wish I still had (paid $500 for it in 1972). One sold for over $200,000 recently in Arizona Damm......

All 907ie's dont have such fuel cap. Some have, like 750 Paso and some have thiskind. At least i have noticed so, as my "older" 907 have thiskind and my "newer" have like 750 Paso have. Thiskind have water pipe feed from around hole to down/outside. 750 Paso style cap dont have such and its very poor, cause if You take fuel after rain, then water goes very easily to tank...
