yeah, that screw is real small. the hole in the fitting on the end of the cable is just a plain hole right thru both sides and the thread is in the shaft on the speedo , and even with the screw done up tight the fitting is still loose . If you cant find the screw , I reckon you would easily get away with a small pin ( bit of wire ) instead
Call me crazy ( I think there must be a club by now !) but I think the best part of a new ( to me /you ) bike is sorting out all the niggles, you feel so much smarter and better off than the last owner

Still have not found that screw/bolt, ended up using safety wire, long-term it will messing up the threads on the trip meter post so I'll keep looking for it. I should have take the dash out of the bike but I was worried that I might damage the connections and the previous owner had done some wiring that I haven't figured out yet, my guess is to eliminate the clock since it's not working and as I have found on this forum is a drain on the battery. No luck on the taillight yet, for sure I have no power going to the taillight side, but brake light side works fine, started tracing it forward and found some mods to the wiring made by the previous owner, Tank will have to come off to figure it out. I also found three wires coming off of each rear turn signal, there is a black wire with a male connector on the end, must be a ground, but I do not see that on the schematic in the shop manual nor do if find any extra wire with female connector, strange. Meanwhile my fiancée and I have been attending to other items, all cosmetic stuff, and the reflectors on each side under the seat were missing. I would not have worried about that except it is obvious they are missing since there are two holes on each side where the reflectors fit, small plastic pins on the back of the reflector fits in those holes. So I ordered and installed Italian Flag reflectors. Today I'm putting on the SS fairing bolt kit and then I'll let the PASO sit for awhile, while I attend to a few items on a couple of the other bikes. - Gene
