Rebuilding my 907 ST3

Yes, the upper forward mount on the right side is still at the paintshop... :roll:

The lower won`t be used.
I think i do not need it. But i am not sure. I will test it.
The ST3 engine offers no possibility to use it.

Today i flooded the frametubes where possible with fluid film, to prevent oxydation damage.

Sprocket& swingarm-axis are exactly on the same hight.

How does it look like in original?

after looking at both pics, the front sprocket looks to be in the same spot, (my apologies for barking up the wrong tree) it just didnt look right, I should of taken the cover off and had a proper look...then the swingarm chain damage was most likely caused by a loose chain, had a look at my swingarm and it also has a little chain groove, but very small, a chain guide or nylon pad might not be a bad idea to prevent this and check chain tension more often :beer:

How is the mileage of your bike?

Mine has altogether about 145.000km on the odo...

I think you will have the same damage, when your bike reaches the 146tkm...

you could be right...when I get some time I'll remove the sprocket cover and inspect if there is any damage near swingarm bearing, I still think this is not a design fault, but a maintenance issue :beer:
